Michael Czarnota
Founder & CEO
As Founder & CEO of ReCharge ReCycling and United Battery Recyclers International (UBRi), Michael is responsible for overall management of the company as well as developing strategic partnerships with corporate, government, and community organizations. Prior to founding ReCharge ReCycling, Michael led the supply chain for Jabil’s Aftermarket Services Group where his team launched the first internet based spare parts portal for cell phone, laptop, server and storage products. UBRi is one of the world’s largest battery recycling supply chain providers – with a presence in 10 different countries – helping to ensure ReCharge Recycling has ample and secure intake and outtake supply chain channels. UBRi brings invaluable business relationships to ReCharge ReCycling to empower them to take a leading position in the EV battery industry. Michael is a graduate from the University of Michigan.
As President and CTO of ReCharge ReCycling, Mike is responsible for development and implementation of the company strategy as well as technology. Prior to joining ReCharge ReCycling, Mike spent 20 years in leadership roles at General Motors including CIO of GM China, CIO Shanghai OnStar and IT Director, Global Product Development where he led creation and implementation of a multi-year technology roadmap for both Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) and Computer-Aided Test (CAT). These roadmaps were a key part of GM initiatives to “move to virtual” and a transition of lab testing from internal combustion engine focused to battery electric focused. He obtained his Electrical Engineering degree from Trine University and earned an MBA from the University of Michigan-Flint.
Joshua Czarnota
Senior Marketing Manager
As Senior Marketing Manager of ReCharge ReCycling, Joshua is responsible for website development and design. Along with ReCharge ReCycling, Joshua holds this position with our partner company, UBRi. With three years of experience, he has completed tasks such as: trademark acquisitions, website development and maintenance, grant writing, and graphic design. Joshua is a graduate of Grand Valley State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.
